Back to the Future

There was time (when I was 28) that everybody I knew was getting married. It was the year 2010 and people were changing their statuses on Facebook, putting up pictures, sending out evites, getting engaged, deciding on dates.

It was hard not to get caught up with all the wedding festivities. It was especially hard not to feel sorry for yourself. It was also hard to feel happy for the others. Try as you might, as much as you might love them.

Then, I decided to take a step back, take a deep breath, and to keep doing that for the rest of the year.

That's how I survived.
